My name is Brett Wallace (BGN00001A,
BDA2004.FSS) and I am the
co-founder of GNregistry (founded January 2002). On January 19, 1988 I
purchased a "BRAND NEW" 1987 Buick Regal Grand National with 00153.0
original miles. As of December 22, 2006, it had accumulated 37,987
miles, including one road trip to the 25th Anniversary Buick GS
Nationals held on May 17 - 21, 2005. My original intentions were to
drive the GN for several years and when the time came, replace the GN
for a family sedan. I never sold my GN and yes I still bought a family
sedan. In May of 2003, I drove over-night from Wisconsin to Bowling
Green, KY to attend the Buick GS Nationals for the weekend. I arrived
early Friday morning and had the best time of my life. It was like
Buick Heaven. Going back to 1988, it was normal to see a Buick Grand
National cruising around, However in 2003, it was rare to see even one
Buick Regal V6 Turbo cruising around. Seeing is believing, but hearing
the drone of many Buick V6 Turbo's is awesome! The brand "BUICK",
regardless if it is a V-6 or V-8, or even hybrid is magnified when you
arrive in Bowling Green. In October of 2002, I purchased a new digital
camera due to my job and one thing led to another. Upon arriving home
after attending the 2003 GS Nationals, I posted the photos and videos
on GNregistry.
On January 29, 2004, I
purchased the domain name "www.GSNATIONALS.com",
and the rest is HISTORY. Then in March of 2004, I was offered the
opportunity to cover the GS Nationals for GM High Tech Performance and
write an article covering the event. The following year, it was the
25th Anniversary Buick GS Nationals, which was the pivotal point of
any anniversary, 25 years. How many people or organizations celebrate
25 years, especially a car club sponsored event. The Buick GS
Nationals are a week long club sponsored event held yearly in Bowling
Green, Kentucky. Be sure to mark your calendar and reserve a room by
clicking here to attend this
year!
